Hello! My name is Sarah Hernandez. I grew up all over the place, and my family was never really into the whole “God” thing. Because of that, I didn’t know much about Him—until one day in high school when I met a lovely girl named Amanda. She was someone I admired so much, and I couldn’t believe she wanted to be my friend. We became best friends quickly and went through a lot of difficult things together.
At one point, Amanda was in the hospital for weeks. While she was there, she texted me, “I want to go to church.” Of course, I supported her. She found a little church down the road called Connection Community Church. When she recovered, we decided to go together.
We walked in full of fear and anxiety… but little did we know we would be welcomed with open arms, as if we had been part of that family our whole lives. We found our little seats in the corner and listened to our first message. We cried our eyes out. Everything about that day made us want to be saved. A year later, we were baptized together, and our journey with God has never stopped. Now, she is spreading the Word her own way, and this is mine.
A little side note about me: I’m half Mexican and half white. Growing up, it was hard because I didn’t speak Spanish, and that made me insecure about being Mexican at all. But today, I embrace it more than ever. This website is Also my way of celebrating both parts of who I am. Here, I’ll be sharing not only faith-based designs, but also designs inspired by Hispanic culture.
